So, I haven’t really thought of buying a drone as decent ones have been pretty expensive, especially compared to how much I’d probably use one but this is probably the first to make me consider buying one:

I tested the DJI Neo and it's so good that all I can think about now is flying it

DJI knocked it out of the park with the Neo

It’s Chinese spy drone, though, so there’s that.

We used a dji nano 2 I think to film over the sea and it just went in :/

I understand there can be serious magnetic fields at play, I recall TOW missiles would go awry over water or other issues.

Well it wasn’t mine and I wasn’t flying it, but it’s supposed to stay at the same altitude and IIrc it uses an optical sensor to do it, probably in addition to GPS. And it somehow got confused by waves at one point and went in though the guy was telling it to go up. It was also behind a cliff so connection may have been an issue. We were considering deep water soloing on the cliff and we’re looking for a good place to get out of the water.
