aint that the fuckin truth
Here is the really sad part- probably an absolute goldmine of irreplaceable biotech templating in that forest that could make us rich and/or healthier, independent of all the planet stuff. I keep thinking we are gonna kill some orchid or gecko that is the key to curing cancer and we’re going to kill it off with real he-man moronic DNA slaughter for temporary gain.
I’m telling you, the strategic play is to unthaw the Russian and Canadian northlands, and it’s deliberate.
Just watched it last night myself. The version I had did not have Russian dubbed over the German and the subtitles were pretty good. Except where something was on a sign. Everytime the camera passed over the words it would catch a subtitle.
The PzIII’s were meh and appeared to built on some sort of Soviet T-80 chassis. The PzII looked good and possibly built on a T-60 chassis. The Panthers looked great and obviously were T-54/55 chassis mods. The T-34 (76) was awesome to see as they are quite rare. The T-34-85 was meh but was played as something weaker than it truly was.
Overall I did enjoy the movie especially all the tank play.

@oyaji Popular dive spot
I was supposed to go diving with Gonzalo Gonzalez when I was there, but we got too drunk. He’s supposed to be the Jacques Cousteau of Mexico. I stayed at his place in Akumal, but we never did get to go dive.

Interesting I never heard about that in all the years I lived there. Apparently they just announced they are reopening the case to DNA test the evidence after there was more interest because of the show. Kind of surprising they wouldn’t have done that before now, but maybe black lives don’t matter. I liked how they were going to a lot of trouble to recreate stuff from that time period. I remember going to the Gold Mine to play arcade games as a kid and there it was in the show. Also the airport expansion was a big deal and its partly named for the mayor, who was the first black mayor of Atlanta. Glad I didn’t grow up there in those times with all that racial shit going on. I saw some signs of it still, mostly from older people, but the city had improved quite a bit.
It’s a weird parallel to the show on how they were forced to start the initial investigation due to pressure, not that they really cared.
