Why so slow? Anyone else having problems loading pages? My connection is good at 650 up and down but most websites are super slow.
I was going to blame Lithu.

I’ve noticed nothing but that I could not DL from youtube when I was in town for a few hours in the morning. Out on the farm, connection is just as shitty as ever.
It’s probably MicroSoft’s fault wit the Win11 BS,

FFS. I go to their tech feed to escape from every other post being about American politics.

Same shit with my Northern Virginia sub…it’s full of politics. I just want to know where the good restaurants are.

I feel like I’d be playing that shit for all it’s worth.
“Yeah, so I made a break through on the new flux capacitor design but I’m not quite there yet. I can’t stop thinking about how you won’t let me give you anal.”

I had to ask AI what a smart fridge even does beyond cooling your food. Aside from having a screen for photos and watching vids on the door (stuff you could just do on your ipad), it said smart fridges have:
- Interior cameras so you can check what’s inside while at the grocery store
- Inventory tracking and expiration date reminders
- Integration with your phone for shopping lists
- Temperature controls you can adjust remotely
I maybe adjust the temperature twice in the lifetime of the fridge so the last one sounds useless to me and, if it really was a smart fridge, shouldn’t it be able to do it itself? And the other shit sounds like it would be hella flaky and unreliable.

Not to mention hackable and so stuff destroyed, lists monkeyed with, doxing what’s in your fridge etc.
They were pushing that crap at the computer show I went to in the era of Newton handhelds and DEC Alpha, first time I laid eyes on a Linux machine. Useless shit I didn’t want then or now.

Ya had to be the Comdex or CES 1995. Sony DVD intro, a bunch of sad Apple nuts whaling on their Newtons, Allied General on display, Citrix in its original form- and Novell had the smart refrigerator display. Annnnnnyday now.
