Browser functionality here is only about 10%. Buttons do not work. Edit, Quote, Reply functions - nothing. Delete does not work either.
But upper and lower cases DO work. First time in years, I think. How 'bout dat.

Maybe you should consider buying a new keyboard

I remember in that game Second Life that was kind of the same, there were people making some decent money. There was one woman that was making six figures as a virtual real estate agent.

My sister was into SL for years. I tried it but didn’t get the appeal. Maybe it was the people running around with penises on their heads or something. Just seemed hella weird to me.

Yeah, I played it a little bit when there were some WW2OL guys causing chaos. I joined that group and was promptly issues a Wehrmacht uniform to wear in game as we went around fucking with people. One funny time was when we went to the Muslim land or whatever it was called and it was G rated. We were told by the mod or whatever “we love you Hitler, but you can’t use bad language here”.
I did explore it a bit on my own and there were some interesting things people created and a lot of freaky shit that made you wonder how fucked up that person was irl.

That would require money.

Stupid
Particularly on something as commoditized as a mouse. I had to look at what mouse I’m using, it’s this one:

I certainly never bought it; It must have came free with a computer I bought in the last 5 years. It has 6400 DPI, 7 buttons and RGB lighting and I’ve never had a complaint with it but, it’s so cheap it was thrown in with something else. Amazon Egypt are still selling them for $13.50.
The above mouse just died on me. I even booted into windows and installed three months of updates to check it was the mouse and not some Linux thing that caused the problem.
First mouse in ~35 years of using them that I can recall I had to bin because it stopped working.

I don’t think Jam realizes how heavily bombarded the kids are and from such a young age.
I could only guess.

I don’t think social media kills as often as other “vices”
Read Jonathan Haidt’s books on the subject. You’d be surprised how bad social media is. The effect its having on our youth is significantly worse than alcohol or drugs ever were. Here is a brief article https://www.persuasion.community/p/haidt-the-teen-mental-illness-epidemic
Social media makes people think they’re trans, that the world is flat, etc.
Now, you could fix this in other ways but acting like it isn’t all that bad isn’t one of them. Banning it probably is the wrong route too. Trump’s plan to end section 230 and force social media companies to allow you to opt out of their algorithms if accomplished are good first steps. However, the human brain is wired to deal with drama on the scale of the entire planet. The human brain is still wired for tribal life still not planet sized bullshit 24/7.
This x 1000
But fixing it seems impossible. We’re the car that’s edged itself into a car parking cul-de-sac that it now can’t reverse itself out of. I can refuse my kids having true SM until they’re 16, maybe. But after that? It’s there, waiting to pounce, and they’ll voluntarily grab it for its attractions and benefits.
We are fucked. We screwed it all up.
There are people who do not participate, but they are few by now, I guess.
I am not immune. I participate in this forum. That must count as social media, right?

Well… Speaking of LOT. Peggy and I installed an app on Daphné’s phone so that she can’t freely install new apps and, above all, access the internet.
What I didn’t tell Peggy is that what I feared the most was not Daphné finding things like the black web or Japanese p0rn. -
