Employee arrested for locking Windows admins out of 254 servers in extortion plot

Employee arrested for locking Windows admins out of 254 servers in extortion plot

A former core infrastructure engineer at an industrial company headquartered in Somerset County, New Jersey, was arrested after locking Windows admins out of 254 servers in a failed extortion plot targeting his employer.

Using the name “TheFr0zenCrew!” might have tipped the authorities off that it was an inside job. It sounds kinda ghey and a hella-dated for 2024.

The alternative is a wife if you want your shit cleaned. At least if you tell the robot to STFU, it probably will.

In Leak, Facebook Partner Brags About Listening to Your Phone’s Microphone to Serve Ads for Stuff You Mention

One of Facebook's alleged marketing partners explained how it listens to users' smartphone microphones and advertises to them accordingly.

After 404 reached out to Google about its partnership, the tech giant removed the media group from the site for its “Partners Program,” which prompted Meta, the owner of Facebook, to admit that it is reviewing CMG to see if it violates any of its terms of service.

Seems like there was something to it if that was Google’s response.

                  https://gamerant.com/steam-more-users-chinese-than-english-never-happened-before/

Despite Steam being banned in China and users having to access it illegally via VPN, Simplified Chinese is now the number one user language instead of English on the platform.

According to data taken from Steam, 35.03% of all gamers are using Simplified Chinese, while 31.17% are using English. These languages are followed by Russian with 8.49%, Spanish (Spain) with 3.86%, and Portuguese (Brazil) with 3.43%.

How the hell are there more Russian users than Spanish?

I guess American HispanicXals might opt for English but otherwise I would have thought there were way more Spanish speakers.

Most Spanish speakers live in the third world thanks to colonial assholes.

my idea was to come up with mechanical/animal brain interface to control movement, using the particular attributes of certain animals to enable superior coordination for transportation. for instance, the coordination for 6,8, or more legs, or superior spatial awareness and balance to enable enhanced flight capabilities. control the animal, and thus control movement.

don’t see how they would stay alive without life support. also don’t see the benefit of imprinting anything on laminated slices of mouse brain either, or at all how it might work. psionics would be a very cool i/o twist though, should such a thing become possible (i’m betting it will… eventually).

my idea was to use living brains with their own programming intact, and then just add controls to guide them. if they are doing it with mushrooms, then how far off can animal control be?

peta would have a shit-fit though.
