How do you differentiate these “losers” from the rest of big rail? All the same to me.
It’s basically like Al-Qaeda pointing to the Islamic State and saying “Look, they’re bigger assholes than us!”
Except AQ’s not as bad as Big Rail

Obviously, but my point was just that they’re all terrorists in the end.

the shipper didn’t disclose the volatility.
oh, c’mon now, don’t tell us that you aver that is the reason the train left the track?
No hence the term losers, but you don’t destroy the town.

Sure.

Accident rate and one man crews and loser engineers like the one that didn’t set hand brakes.

engineers
i object to that term in this usage.
should be “enginist”.

That’s nice, since 1830s job titles in practice means you just have to deal.

that’s only because the related terms “satanist”, “socialist”, and “communist” had not yet entered common parlance!

Nor the gender of the various connectors . . .
“I think in the ‘old days’ that connector with the pointy things sticking out may have been considered a male connector, but the back cover looks pink to me? Could it identify as female? We shouldn’t assume, I guess.”

I do not miss those.

I’m a big fan of open source software. Partly because I’m a tightarse but also because when shit inevitably goes wrong with software you have options beyond reporting it through the vendor’s support channels which is often about as effective as farting into a gale.
Two things open source does particularly poorly sometimes though is UI design and audio systems. Some of the biggest apps in open source have the weirdest, most illogical user interfaces and you have to be a rocket scientist to understand the interaction between Pulse Audio, JACK, ALSA, Pipewire etc and the myriad ways they interact. Shitty UI and incomprehensible audio systems come together perfectly in a program called Ardour, a DAW, which I’ve spent three days first trying to get working and then trying to get it to do what I want it to. I’m kind of there now but fuck me.
-
Ardour works fine on Mac ;-)
The open source ‘desktop’ world was its own worst enemy. Android/ChromeOS has proven you can create a UI atop open source that is usable by 10s of millions of idiots but in order to do that it took a governing body with financial incentives to create and maintain the over all look and feel.
The Gnome and KDE people spent too much time fighting to be the ‘best’ linux desktop and lost way to much time/ground on Windows and MacOS. Nobody cares that today both Gnome and KDE offer very usable UIs as 99.9% of people who ‘need’ Unix as a desktop just run Macs and everyone else still uses windows.

Using the name “TheFr0zenCrew!” might have tipped the authorities off that it was an inside job. It sounds kinda ghey and a hella-dated for 2024.
-
I don’t know which is worst, the home invader styling or the way it stops to look at its hands while it wonders if it could strangle a human with them.

The alternative is a wife if you want your shit cleaned. At least if you tell the robot to STFU, it probably will.

After 404 reached out to Google about its partnership, the tech giant removed the media group from the site for its “Partners Program,” which prompted Meta, the owner of Facebook, to admit that it is reviewing CMG to see if it violates any of its terms of service.
Seems like there was something to it if that was Google’s response.

Despite Steam being banned in China and users having to access it illegally via VPN, Simplified Chinese is now the number one user language instead of English on the platform.
