Us stocks are significantly overvalued because the investors are projecting future gains from selling AI services into them. This threatens to pull the rug under it, getting the money withdrawn and put into emerging markets, if investors start believing that it will give higher returns.
Is any of this based on any understanding? I don’t really think so. I’m in the middle of this and I have a lot of opinions, but it’s hard for me to predict what will happen tomorrow despite thinking that most of the people in the world have it wrong.

I think I can explain it: everybody wants to eat for free.

As an example, a fund we own a small part of was recently in talks to buy a share of Anthropic. We got a long report about the expected profits, and the gist of it was that it’ll keep growing rapidly for a decade because that’s what Google and Facebook did 20 years ago. I don’t think you have to be a genius to doubt that, on the other hand the nonsensical growth keeps happening so what do I know?
The sale fell through and I’m pretty happy tbh.

Nothing about the stock market is rational.

Economic votes. That explains how a business can be successful. Either by purchasing their product or stock. Essentially you voting for a company by doing either.

Aussies are going to be so good at this.
“How many fucking eggs should I use in a fucking omelette ya cunt”
It feels completely natural.

Pretty surprised they reported 1 billion in revenue for AR/VR for one quarter. Shocked that they are spending four times that much every quarter.

This year will decide if Horizon Worlds “will go down as the work of visionaries or a legendary misadventure,” according to a Meta executive
I’m on the edge of my seat.

If history has taught us anything, it’s that governments can always be trusted and backdoors never fall into bad actors hands.

If Hollywood has taught us anything, if a bad guy
opens the back door, a suave debonair, martini drinking Scotsman will save us, after he beds a few salacious named ladies. -

New Jersey was deep-sixing medical waste offshore (including medical waste for New York along with it), so maybe they still do this? Also, did anyone bother counting plastic straws on any beach? Then we would have basis for comparison.
If memory serves, Sandy Hook NJ was where all the used syringes were washing up on the beach for the news story years back.

I hope the UK sinks.

No I guess you’re right, nothing would change.
