Like there aren’t maybe dozens or more stack overflow users who will just script around it and use ChatGPT in the backend to farm karma or whatever it is that StackOverflow awards. How will they police it? Add a report link with the option saying, “I can’t be sure but I don’t think this user is human”?

I have never been sure the people on SO are human.

Chat GPT is garbage. I have had it create a few simple conversion functions for me, but occasionally it just gets really stupid. In this case it can’t even convert freedom to commie measures and did it backwards. At least it apologizes I guess, which seems to be a lost art these days.

We are moving to AWS and I am trying to get management concerned about security and role management, but right now they aren’t interested in centralizing that. I am guessing they will at least start to think about that stuff once the bills start coming in higher than they expect.

For me personally, post-nut clarity isn’t conducive to productive coding. I do my best work when my mind is racing and I’m hopped up on caffeine and nicotine.

What is good for problems I can’t figure out is just leaving it and picking another problem. In a day or three I’ll often just suddenly see the answer for the first problem. Assuming I have the luxury of the time to do that of course. Most of the time I just have to brute force it by trying approach after approach until I find the solution.

I guess we each have our own ‘best creative’ or problem-solving moments.

For me, I get some of my better ideas while in the shower in the morning.

Sometimes I go over challenges before falling asleep and occasionally I wake up next day with a solution in mind.

                                            "laissez les bons temps rouler!"
